2 Families Displaced By Fire At Rohnert Park Townhome Complex

Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to the two of four units.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — Two families were displaced Monday when a fire broke out at a four-unit townhome complex in Rohnert Park.

The residential structure fire in the 5000 block of Country Club Drive was reported at 1:42 p.m. Monday by a 911 caller who could see flames on the side of one of the townhomes, according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.

Firefighters were on the scene within 1 minute and found flames coming from the roof area of the two middle units, Rohnert Park DPS said in a news release.

Public safety personnel ensured there were no residents inside any of the four units.

Firefighters from Rohnert Park DPS, Rancho Adobe Fire, Santa Rosa Fire and Sonoma County Fire worked to extinguish the fire and brought it under control within 10 minutes.

Firefighters protected the two end units from significant damage but the residents of the two inner units were displaced by the blaze.

The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.

Investigators from Rohnert Park DPS were at the scene Tuesday morning working to determine the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, the property management company and Red Cross were assisting the two displaced families.
