2 'High-Value' Cars Destroyed In Duplex Garage Fire: Santa Rosa FD
The late-night blaze caused an estimated $250,000 in damage to the garage and its contents.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Two high-value cars were lost in a fire Tuesday night at a South Santa Rosa duplex, the Santa Rosa Fire Department said.
Crews responded at 10:36 p.m. Tuesday to reports of a garage fire in the 500 block of Greenwood Drive. The first fire unit arrived at the scene in under 5 minutes and found a single-story duplex home with significant fire showing from the front of the garage, Battalion Chief Jason Jenkins said.
Because of the large amount of fire, firefighters pulled hose lines and initially attacked the fire from outside, Jenkins said.

They then forced entry into the garage and fought heavy fire.

Crews held the blaze to the garage and attic area, and the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.
Firefighters remained on the scene for nearly an hour afterward for overhaul and complete extinguishment.
"The fire destroyed two high-value cars and the contents inside the garage," Jenkins said. "Both living units sustained minor smoke damage."
The cars destroyed were a new Camero ZL1 and a classic Pontiac Firebird, Jenkins told Patch.
Damage was estimated at $250,000.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
All told, 18 fire personnel responded to the blaze including four engine crews, a ladder truck crew, a fire investigator and a chief officer. The Sonoma County Fire District assisted SRFD during the blaze.
