2 Men, 1 Minor Arrested On Attempted Murder Charges After Shooting In Sonoma Co.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – Three people were arrested Sunday night after an alleged gang-related shooting in Santa Rosa, according to police.
Police said officers responded to the 2600 block of Mohawk Street just after 9 p.m. on reports of numerous shots being fired.
Upon arrival, officers found a 22-year-old Santa Rosa man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he underwent surgery for injuries not considered life-threatening,
according to police.

Witnesses told police they saw several people fleeing the area in a vehicle just after the shooting.
Officers conducted a search of known gang areas and were able to locate three known gang members walking near Willrush Street and Umland Drive heading toward the suspect vehicle.

Police said two men, Gustavo Castillo, 23, and Angel Reyes, 18, and a 17-year-old boy were detained.
A search of the vehicle yielded a loaded handgun under a seat and several spent casings that were consisted with having recently been fired, police said.
Castillo and Reyes were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of a loaded firearm in public, possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle and gang enhancements.
The 17-year-old boy was booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of similar offenses.
The Police Department's gang crimes team assisted with the investigation into the shooting and said they believed this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.
