21-Year-Old Shot In Head While Sitting In Car In Santa Rosa

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – A man was shot in the head in Santa Rosa while he was sitting in his car Sunday night, police said.

Before midnight, the 21-year-old victim was driving in the area of West Avenue when he pulled his car over to the side of the road.

A car with several male suspects in it pulled up, police said. One of the occupants fired a round at the victim, striking him in the head.

The victim drove away from the area while the suspects fled. He was released from a hospital this morning after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Santa Rosa police Gang Crimes Team is investigating the shooting.
