3 People Suffer Burns In Santa Rosa House Fire

All three residents were taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, while a small dog found in the home was said to be doing fine.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Three people escaped a Santa Rosa house fire Sunday night but did suffer burns, according to the Santa Rosa Fire Department, which was dispatched at 9:44 p.m. to the blaze in the 600 block of Oak Street.

"During the response we were advised that there may be occupants trapped inside the house," SRFD Battalion Chief Jason Jenkins said. "Firefighters determined that the occupants of the home were able to make it out with the help of a neighbor, just prior to our arrival. Three occupants did receive minor to moderate burn and smoke inhalation injuries."

Significant fire was showing from the front of the Burbank Gardens home when the first crew arrived at the scene in under five minutes, Jenkins said.

Additional resources were requested, and when a live power line was found down in the front yard of the home, PG&E was also requested, Jenkins said.

Meanwhile, the injured residents were all taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

When searching inside the home for any more people, firefighters found a small dog.

"The dog was comforted and appeared to be doing well," Jenkins said. "The dog was left in the care of its neighbors."

Crews brought the fire under control within 20 minutes but remained on scene for nearly three hours.

Sonoma County Fire District, AMR ambulance and Santa Rosa Police Department all assisted with the incident.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Santa Rosa Fire Department, with damage estimated to be $500,000, Jenkins said.
