Snyder will reopen August 19 - Pedestrian routes will change.

Enhancements to Snyder Lane and Rohnert Park Expressway

The City of Rohnert Park wants to make it easy for residents and businesses to stay informed about construction activity and ensure that you have the most current information. Below are some helpful tips for navigating through the following areas next week:

Snyder Lane set to OPEN Wednesday, August 19, 2015

Construction continues on Snyder Lane at Copeland Creek to Southwest Boulevard. The road will open again to two-way traffic on August 19, 2015 with traffic control in place during further construction. Currently the road remains closed and work is scheduled Monday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with work scheduled this Saturday, August 15, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Motorists traveling to businesses along Snyder Lane including Cross & Crown Church, Scribbles and Giggles Art Center and Wine Country Smiles will have access from Camino Corto. A single southbound lane has been designated. Please travel through the area with caution and slow speeds.

Pedestrians and Bicyclists

Sidewalks are closed along the east side of Snyder Lane and in several areas on RPX including the lane for bicyclists. For your safety, bicyclists should adhere to traffic laws and share the road and pedestrians should travel on the west side of Snyder and only use crossings that have been safely marked at several points along Snyder.

Access to Lawrence E. Jones Middle School

A safe and clearly marked crosswalk is in place across Snyder Lane directly in front of the middle school. Those traveling from the south can follow the sidewalk on the west side up across RPX and cross at the school. Those traveling from the east should enter onto Snyder at Medical Center Drive and can cross Medical Center on the east side to access the school.

Access to the Community Center, PAC and Jasmine Circle

When traveling to the Community Center, the Performing Arts Center or J Section, a safe and clearly marked crosswalk is in place from the south corner of Jasmine Circle crossing Snyder to the Community Center. All sidewalks to the left and right of this crosswalk on the east side are closed. Those traveling from the east should detour through Jasmine Circle to access this crosswalk. Sidewalks will be closed along RPX on the northeast and southeast sides near Snyder intersection.

Access to Rancho Cotate High School

A safe and clearly marked crosswalk is in place across Snyder at Camino Corto for access to the front entrance of the high school. The crosswalk at Southwest Boulevard is also open. All sidewalks in front of the school and down the east side of Snyder are closed. For your safety, follow the sidewalk along the west side of Snyder and cross at Camino Corto only.

Access at Copeland Creek

The walking/biking trails along Copeland Creek are open on the west side along the Community Center to Snyder Lane and closed on the east side behind Rancho Cotate High School to Sonoma State University.
