2 Rohnert Park Pipe Bombs Bring Evacuations, Arrests
Police in Rohnert Park were called to help Probation officers Saturday after a destructive device thought to be a pipe bomb was found.

UPDATE 1:30PM-
ROHNERT PARK - Residents at a Rohnert Park apartment complex were briefly evacuated Saturday evening after officers located pipe bombs inside an apartment.
At 5:12 p.m., officers with the Rohnert ParkDepartment of Public Safety responded to a report of a destructive device believed to be a pipe bomb located inside an apartment in the 7300 block of Boris Court, RPDPS spokesman Sgt. Eric Matzen said.

Upon arrival, officers learned a probation officer had made discovery.
Officers evacuated occupants from the apartment and three other adjoining units at the 54-unit complex, according to Matzen.

The Sonoma County Bomb Squad responded to the scene. While removing the device, the bomb squad located a second device.
Both devices were safely removed from the apartment and disposed of, their units, according to Matzen.
Officers arrested a 33-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a destructive device and being a felon in possession of ammunition, Matzen said.
One other person was arrested by Sonoma County Probation Department officers, according to Matzen.
The two were booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.

ROHNERT PARK - Police in Rohnert Park were called to assist Sonoma County Probation officers Saturday evening, after a destructive device thought to be a pipe bomb was discovered, according to police.
Police said officers responded at 5:12 p.m. to an apartment building to evacuate the occupants as well as the occupants from surrounding areas after a probation officer located the pipe bomb.
According to police, during the removal of the device, the Sonoma County Bomb Squad located a second device.
Both devices were removed from the residence, and officers conducted additional searches to ensure safety.
One person was arrested for a PRCS violation and another was arrested for possession of the two bombs. No
injuries were reported.
