Amy Ellis Promoted To Executive Team At Graton Resort & Casino

ROHNERT PARK, CA — Graton Resort & Casino announced the promotion Thursday of Amy Ellis to the new position of chief human resources officer, or CHRO.
Ellis joins Graton Resort & Casino’s executive team with more than 19 years of experience in human resources. As CHRO, Ellis is responsible for managing the recruitment and retention of employees as well as overseeing team member engagement, development, and wellness programs and benefits.
"During a time when most organizations were experiencing the Great Resignation during the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw the opposite happening here at Graton Resort & Casino," said Lana Rivera, president of Graton Resort & Casino. "When our doors re-opened, 98% of team members returned. Amy’s leadership was a critical contributor to that, and we are truly grateful to have her on our executive team."

Since joining Graton Resort & Casino as director of human resources in 2017, Ellis' goal has been to provide a workplace that financially and holistically cares for its team members. The resort’s wellness program includes everything from health benefits to education in financial wellness and cooperation with local community partners for expanded services. Graton offers ESL, citizenship legal support and exploration classes for team members. These benefits allow team members to develop new skills outside their job description and support the resort’s commitment to career development.
Before joining Graton Resort & Casino, Ellis served as HR director for Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds and held human resources positions at Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, Covenant House and Clark County School District.

Ellis earned a master’s degree in human resource management from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
