Arson Suspected In Rohnert Park Car Fire
A Rohnert Park woman was arrested on suspicion of arson, police said.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — A Rohnert Park woman is suspected of arson in connection with a car fire Thursday morning, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said.
At 8:54 a.m., dispatchers got several 911 calls about the fire in the 140 block of Santa Alicia Drive, near several apartment complexes off Commerce Drive.
Officers and three fire crews were sent to the blaze and saw one car fully involved in fire, with flames starting to spread to cars parked on either side of it.

Another car parked in a carport some distance away was also burning, police said.
With help from Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District and Sonoma County Fire District, the fire was quickly extinguished and crews prevented it from spreading to surrounding buildings.

There was no injuries reported.
Damage to the cars and items inside the cars resulted in an estimated loss of $20,000.
The fire appeared suspicious, so officers began an arson investigation.
Based on evidence and statements gathered at the scene, officers arrested 37-year-old Aftan Burnett, at her nearby apartment, on suspicion of arson, police said.
Burnett was booked into Sonoma County jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
