Boy, 13, Confesses To Threats Against Santa Rosa School: Cops
"I'm going to kill everyone" was written in graffiti at Willowside Middle School but authorities do not believe the boy was serious.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A 13-year-old boy has confessed to writing threats earlier this week against a Santa Rosa school, a Sonoma County sheriff's sergeant said Thursday. Staff at Willowside Middle School found the alleged threats written as graffiti Tuesday inside a boys bathroom, prompting school and sheriff's officials to place the campus on lockdown until all students were safely released their parents.
Sheriff's detectives and school staff immediately began an investigation and have since identified the student they believe was responsible, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said in a news release. The boy — whose name was not disclosed — "confessed to making the writings," the sergeant said.
One message was written with a marker in graffiti and read, "I'm going to kill everyone," Crum said.

A second message found the same day in the same bathroom was written with paint and said "every[one] die," according to the sergeant.
"At this time we don’t believe the boy was serious about carrying out the threats and he doesn’t have any means to carry out the threats," Crum said.

Authorities have released the 13-year-old to the custody of his parents, who "were instrumental in the investigation and are holding him accountable," Crum said.
Follow-up discipline of the student will be handled by school staff, according to Crum.
The matter is also being referred to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Juvenile Division for potential criminal charges, the sergeant said.
