California State University Introduces New Degree Programs That Can Be Completed In 3 Years

It's graduation season, with students celebrating their new degrees as they head out into the workforce. But there are forces at work that are causing a high degree of anxiety for graduates, and the California State University system is making some changes to try to better meet their needs.

There is a growing concern among college graduates about what kind of future may be waiting for them. That was reflected in a viral video this week of a commencement speech in Florida, when a somewhat clueless real estate executive spoke glowingly about the "exciting" change coming from AI.

"The rise of artificial intelligence is the next Industrial Revolution!" said speaker Gloria Caulfield, followed by loud booing and catcalls from the graduates. "Oh! What happened?" she said, as the booing continued. "Okay, I struck a chord!"
