CHP Motorcycle Officer Released From Hospital After Hwy 101 Collision
BREAKING: The sergeant was ejected from his motorcycle in Thursday's collision in Santa Rosa, CHP officials say.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A California Highway Patrol sergeant was treated for minor injuries and released from Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after his motorcycle and another vehicle collided Thursday afternoon, a CHP officer said.
Sgt. John Evans was riding his department motorcycle south on U.S. Highway 101 south of Bicentennial Way in Santa Rosa around 4:15 p.m., CHP Officer John Sloat said.
Evans was in the No. 2 lane when another vehicle changed lanes, forcing Evans to the right as he took evasive action. The motorcycle collided with another vehicle and Evans was ejected, coming to rest on the roadway,
Sloat said.

Evans suffered scrapes on his arms and pain over his body, CHP Officer Chris Mullins said Friday morning. He was released from the hospital Thursday evening, Mullins said.
The CHP is investigating the collision, Mullins said.
