City’s Attempt To Cover Up Facts, That Raised Path Height!

They let the Contractor leave the old base rock in place, and not remove the whole old path. And stating they removed 12" of Fill. Not true!

As you can see as I photographed the Project from day 1 Because it was Unbelievable that you chose Concrete vs Asphalt since Concrete Bike Paths costs Double the cost, and you only get a 30% increase in life span. But repairs cost 3 to 4 times the cost to do.And I sent you a email telling you they were installing new Fill that was all fines. And you can see the old base where the Grinding machine took out the Asphalt. No old base rock was removed. And that’s why it’s 6” to high on the whole job.The City’s Inspector told me they took out 12”. I told him I have all the photos showing that they didn’t take it out. Let’s see yours. He didn’t have any.So now they have to add 2’ of Compacted, Level Shoulders on both sides of the whole job.He said they were going to put 6” of road base in. I informed him that once it gets wet, it will loose all of its Compaction. Then I asked him how is the whole ares going to Drain when it rains. He had no answer. It didn’t drain before, and now it’s worse. The Old Asphalt And Base rock should have been removed, and new Base rock and Asphalt with a 2% Slope to the Culvert should have been done. And at Half Of the costs. And the fact that they didn’t lock the cross Rebars over the outside runs to lock them into the Slab, they just tied them on with Bailing Wire.First big truck will break it, and now they have to bring in a couple of hundred yards to do Two 3” Compacted lifts on each side. Which won’t hold together either. Asphalt might last a couple of years longer then base rock when exposed to rain and traffic. And no rebar or wire on the new walkway. Not good.

Quick design change after I pointed out it’s 6 inches too high
