Oscar Wilde comedy set in colonial India at Sonoma State University

Everybody loves Ernest - but, nobody's quite sure who he really is. Oscar Wilde's witty satire on main stage at Sonoma State University.

Sonoma State University’s Dept. of Theatre Arts & Dance presents “The Importance of Being Earnest.”

Everybody loves Ernest - but, nobody’s quite sure who he really is.

Perhaps the most perfectly funny play ever written, Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” skewers the British upper classes and their traditions of love, marriage and social conformity as it follows the follies of two eligible British bachelors courting two young women - each determined to marry a man named Ernest.

Director Judy Navas sets Wilde’s witty satire in colonial India for this main stage production.
