SANTA ROSA, CA – A natural gas leak has been stopped this evening in Santa Rosa but five customers will be without service until repairs are complete, fire and PG&E officials said.
The leak started at 3:10 p.m. when a construction crew struck a line at San Miguel Road and Peterson Lane. Two homes were evacuated as a precaution.
As of about 5 p.m. PG&E crews had stopped the leak, according to fire officials.

PG&E spokeswoman Deanna Contreras said the construction crew was digging with a backhoe to prepare a site for future construction when it hit the line.
The site of the break is outside of the footprint of the areas that burned in the North Bay wildfires in October.
