Coroner Identifies 18-Year-Old Who Died In Rohnert Park

The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has identified a Forestville resident as a young woman found unresponsive by friends.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office has identified a young woman who died last week in Rohnert Park as 18-year-old Aesa Sullivan of Forestville.

Sullivan was pronounced dead at 10:40 a.m. Thursday at Alicia Park on Arlen Drive, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said.

Rohnert Park Fire personnel were sent at 10:15 a.m. to a report of an unresponsive female in the 300 block of Arlen Drive, and found Sullivan in the back seat of a car, police said.

Fire personnel removed Sullivan from the car and began lifesaving efforts with the help of Sonoma Life Support paramedics but they could not revive her.

Rohnert Park police officers and detectives responded to investigate the death. Their preliminary investigation revealed Sullivan was picked up by friends at her residence in Forestville and brought to a residence in the 300 block of Arlen Drive.

Sullivan and her friends went inside and went to sleep, police said. Around 10 a.m., they woke up and found her on the couch, unresponsive.

"The friends attempted CPR and then carried [Sullivan] to their car which was parked in the driveway," police said. "When they attempted to drive away, another friend stopped them because he had called 9-1-1. At that time the Lexus pulled into the Alicia Park Parking Lot which is directly across the street from the residence."

Police were not immediately able to rule out anything suspicious about the death, nor say whether it was related to a medical emergency.

As of Tuesday, it appeared authorities were still looking into why Sullivan died.

"We do not have any other details other than what was released," Rohnert Park DPS Deputy Chief Aaron Johnson said Tuesday in an email to Patch. "Information should come out from the Sheriff’s office regarding any post mortem findings."

The sheriff's office told Patch Tuesday there were no updates in the case.

"Cause and manner of death takes weeks to months to determine, depending on the complexity of the case," sheriff's office Spokeswoman Misti Wood said.
