Based on evidence at the scene, officers believe Comez was speeding westbound on West 9th Street and did not properly navigate a curve in the road. He drove over a grass berm on the north side of West 9th and continued through the parking lot of 140 Stony Point Road, where he struck a tree causing the car to spin and crash into the glass storefront, police said.
There was major damage to the storefront and the car.
Comez was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
