DUI Suspected In Crash Onto Cotati Foot Bridge: Police

The solo-vehicle crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Cypress Avenue and W. Sierra Avenue.

COTATI, CA — Cotati police released photos of a suspected DUI crash Thursday afternoon in which a car rolled and became wedged sideways on a wooden pedestrian bridge. The solo-vehicle crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Cypress Avenue and W. Sierra Avenue.

"Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle on a pedestrian foot bridge and on its side," Cotati police said in a social media post.

Miraculously, police said, the driver had no injuries that required medical attention.

However, the driver, whose name police did not provide, was booked into Sonoma County jail for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

"Please let these visual effects be a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence," Cotati police said.
