A Midsummer Night's Dream at Sonoma State University

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” By William Shakespeare / Directed by Paul Draper

One of Shakespeare’s most enchanting, comical and inspiring plays explores confusing twists of love, rivalry and dislocation. Taking a contemporary approach the production asks “Where in contemporary America do we see hobgoblins and fairies? Who is dreaming in Shakespeare's Midsummer night? And will the course of true love ever, at last, run smooth?“

This play of multiple transformations reunites Paul Draper (director), Rob Hamilton (sets), Robyn Spencer (costumes), John Connole (lights/projections), Nancy Lyons (choreography) and award-winning guitarist Alex de Grassi (music composition) for this remounting of the memorable 1998 SSU production.
