Free chair massages, water conservation wisdom, and a potluck celebration––don’t miss it! Join Daily Acts & the City of Cotati for a potluck and workparty at Pocket Park, a waterwise edible demonstration garden on the corner of LaSalle & Loretto Avenues. We’ll discuss how you can create a waterwise garden at home that integrates edibles while keeping the entire landscape low water and low maintenance.
In 2009, the City of Cotati sponsored this transformation from a lawn into a bountiful waterwise landscape. This edible waterwise garden has saved the City over 120,000 gallons of water since its transformation from a lawn. The park also eliminates chemical fertilizer runoff into the Laguna de Santa Rosa, while also providing food, medicine and habitat for the local community of humans and wildlife. Visit Pocket Park and enjoy edibles like apples, raspberries, blueberries, figs, pineapple guavas, and artichokes, and herbs including yarrow and lemon balm to name just a few. Check out the sign at the park’s entrance to learn more about its “food forest” features.
