Valley End Farm will present Spring cooking ideas using local vegetables prepared by Chef Chris Ludwig. The cooking demonstration for moms and other busy people starts at 2 p.m. on Saturday May 7 at Valley End Farm, 6300 Petaluma Hill Road, Santa Rosa (located close to Sonoma State University).
“Sustainable, fresh and local,” is what Valley End Farm owner Sharon Grossi says about the Mother’s Day weekend event. Quick and easy recipes will be on the menu and tasting samples will accompany the afternoon demonstration.
Held at Valley End Farm - Sonoma County’s largest organic farm - the presentation is hosted by Grossi and her son Clint who have been providing the local community with organic produce since 1996 both wholesale and later through a Consumer Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.

The culinary experience is collaboration with Chef Chris Ludwig of Grapevine Catering and the goal is to celebrate Mother’s Day by introducing participants to Sonoma County’s robust cuisine. The event is free to CSA members (including those who sign up for vegetable and/or fruit boxes during the cooking demonstration). Cost for general public is $5 per person.
Along with sampling the prepared food, recipes will also be available. “It’s our way to thank our community for its support,” noted Grossi who adds that chemicals and pesticides are not used on her 70-acre farm. “Our produce is grown with care in rich adobe soil that gives a full flavor and is picked at peak ripeness to ensure the best possible flavor.”
