We will use the marsh plant tule to make California Indian-style baskets, experimenting with various twined weaves to make patterns. These baskets are sometimes called “Indian paper bags” as they are very serviceable and quickly made. Charlie Kennard will show us a collection of twined baskets big and small that he has made using tule and rush. Bring kitchen scissors, small diagonal wire clippers (optional), and lunch. This program is for 13+.
