International Non-Profit seeks dynamic Executive Director
Global Partners for Development (GPFD) is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Executive Director to work with a very active and supportive volunteer board to execute the next phase of its mission. The position is full-time.

MISSION: Global Partners for Development works hand in hand with the people of East Africa to build sustainable solutions to end poverty. We work with grass roots organizations to achieve sustainable improvements in nutrition, clean water, health, education and economic self reliance. Dedicated to helping the poorest communities of East Africa as they strive to lift themselves permanently out of poverty, our team of indigenous and highly skilled Africa Partners provides leadership training and program management. Local communities contribute their own project management resources, partial funding, labor and materials ensuring their full commitment to project success.

Although the Executive Director is fully responsible for overall administration and management of GPFD, including fundraising/development, business operations, Africa programs, and representation to government agencies and the public, this phase of organizational development will emphasize fundraising/development, administration and increasing the volunteer base.
The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors with his/her primary contact being through the Board President.
The successful candidate will have a passion for the mission and have the ability to translate this mission into concrete action items, have a compelling way of engaging business and other nonprofits in valuable partnerships and know-how to market and brand the organization to create interest in the mission and in sponsorship opportunities, including the use of social media and the Internet.
In this next phase of organization development, Global Partners will increase fundraising/development capacity, communications to our existing base of supporters primarily in California but also nationwide and creating new constituencies. This Executive Director position will be the first and sole hire in this phase, organization expansion is anticipated, and we hope to find the right person for a long-term commitment to growth and positive impact on people's lives in the Africa regions where we have programs.

Ability to work easily with a Board; ability to manage expectations of self and others in the context of meeting specific goals in the short and long terms; solid financial management and budgeting skills including the ability to prioritize and make tough choices; willingness for and competence at hiring, mentoring, developing and evaluating staff; public relations, outreach and communication skills including the ability to interpret the mission so it has relevance for sponsors and the community at large; passion for the mission and vision of the organization, and personal integrity, accountability and impeccable ethics.
Skills Required:
MS Office Programs, intermediate to advanced capacity in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Database /Donor Care software familiarity, experience with Total Info by Easy-Ware is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
This position requires that you be able to speak, read and write English at a level which allows full communication and participation in a team situation.
Fluency in Swahili is a plus
Education and Experience required:
BA/BS, MS/MA a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage within a budget and fund raise
Demonstrated results from organizing fundraising and promotional events
Experience with Quickbooks a plus
Five years experience in management, volunteer development, fundraising and/or related field with successful track record of income growth.
Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
Experience working internationally, especially with grass roots oriented INGOs.
Other information:
Travel 15%: 10% Domestic, 5% East Africa
Must successfully complete a credit and criminal background check.
The GPFD office is located in Rohnert Park, CA. Salary commensurate with experience and competitive with similarly situated nonprofits.
