Fake Deputies Scamming Money In Sonoma County
The Sonoma County sheriff's office warns residents about callers impersonating deputies and sergeants to solicit their money.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Callers posing as Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies and sergeants are asking community members for money.
Scammers have called residents, identified themselves as a sergeant or deputy, and tried to solicit money, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's office.
“Members of the Sheriff’s Office will never call or come to your home to solicit money,” the agency said on social media.

The office urged anyone who receives a suspicious call to hang up and contact their local law enforcement agency directly with questions or concerns.
