Fire Destroys Penngrove Home, Outbuilding
BREAKING: Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small one-bedroom cottage fully engulfed in flames, a Rancho Adobe Fire official said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- A residence and an outbuilding were destroyed by fire early Thursday in Penngrove. The blaze on Rose Avenue was reported just at 1:50 a.m., according to Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District Capt. Larry Martinez.
Multiple callers reported the fire, Martinez said, and firefighters arrived on scene to find a small one-bedroom cottage fully engulfed in flames. He said the fire was too fierce for crews to enter the structure, so their main priority became preventing it from spreading to adjacent homes and properties.
Several surrounding fire districts, including Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Schell-Vista, Wilmar and San Antonio, responded to assist, Martinez said.

By 3:30 a.m., the fire was brought under control; however, crews remained on scene until 10 a.m. Thursday making sure it was completely extinguished and all hot spots were out, he said.
The cottage was unoccupied and no injuries were reported, Martinez said.
