Fire Spreads From Shed To House In Rohnert Park

The fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damage but no injuries were reported, according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — A Rohnert Park home and a shed were damaged Thursday in a structure fire but crews kept the flames from spreading to adjacent houses, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said.

Several people called 911 at 12:14 p.m. Thursday to report the house fire on McNair Court.

"Callers reported there were flames visible up the side of the house and one person may still be inside the residence," Rohnert Park DPS said in a news release.

Firefighters were on scene in 4 minutes and found the exterior of the home and the attic completely on fire.

They immediately confirmed all residents of the home had made it safely outside.

Crews from Rohnert Park DPS, Rancho Adobe Fire, Gold Ridge Fire and Sonoma County Fire responded and brought the blaze under control within 8 minutes.

The fire caused significant damage but was fully extinguished within 20 minutes and crews were able to protect the adjacent homes, Rohnert Park DPS said.

The initial investigation pointed toward a cooking fire in a shed attached to the home, although fire investigators remained on scene for several hours.

The blaze caused an estimated $400,000 in damage to the shed and the main structure, according to Rohnert Park DPS.

No injuries were reported.
