SONOMA COUNTY, CA – A Rincon Valley Fire Protection District firefighter came to the aid of a woman who fell or jumped from a vehicle on southbound U.S. Highway 101 this afternoon near Santa Rosa.
Fire Chief Jack Piccinini said Engineer Ryan Estes was driving south around 12:30 p.m. when he noticed cars ahead were stopping suddenly or swerving.
Estes realized something must be in the road, and he also had to swerve to avoid hitting the woman in the middle lane of the highway near Todd Road, Piccinini said.
