Former Pacific Market Location Expecting a New Tenant

Speculation continues as local residents wait for an official announcement.

It has been almost 1 year and 5 months since Pacific Market closed its doors to the public. Since that time local residents have been left wondering who or what would occupy that location.

Many residents clamored for another grocery store with names such as Trader Joe's, G&G Supermarket, and Whole Foods being tossed about as hopeful possibilities.

That wait should soon be over.

As was reported by the Patch back in April, the real estate firm of Keegan and Coppin has been in negotiations with a new tenant for the site. The Patch placed a call to Rhonda Deringer who is one of the agents responsible for properties within the Mountain Shadows Plaza. She confirmed that they were finalizing the lease with that same tenant from back in April.

"The attorney review and internal review of everything is a long process," she stated.

While she is unable to release the name of the new tenant, she was able to say that they expected everything to be signed and completed within the next week or two.

"I am sure the new tenant will make an announcement to get added publicity for their business after everything is official."

For the nearby sections that surround Mountain Shadows Plaza a grocery store would be a big benefit. But for now residents are waiting. The parking lot remains empty, the shopping cart racks are empty, the ivy continues to grow along the posts, and an empty building waits for a business to fill it.
