Freeze Watch Issued For Rohnert Park, North Bay Valleys

NORTH BAY, CA — Freezing temperatures and strong, gusty winds are forecast to occur over the next few nights in parts of the North Bay. North to northeast winds are predicted in the North Bay hills above 1,000 feet overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, while a freeze watch has been issued for inland North Bay valleys overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area.

Cities included in the freeze watch starting at 3 a.m. Wednesday are: Santa Rosa, South Santa Rosa, Napa, San Rafael, Petaluma, Novato and Rohnert Park.

"A Freeze Watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible," NWS officials stated Monday afternoon.

Overnight low temperatures ranging from 25 to 31 degrees are forecast in the watch area.

"These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," forecasters said. "... Freezing temperatures can damage or kill plants that are sensitive to cold. Make sure pets are protected from the cold."

Mostly clear, with a low around 34. Breezy, with a north wind 17 to 22 mph decreasing to 11 to 16 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.

Tuesday
Sunny, with a high near 66. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Tuesday night
Areas of frost after 4am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 29. South wind 3 to 6 mph.

Wednesday
Areas of frost before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 65. South wind 3 to 5 mph.

Wednesday night
Clear, with a low around 32. South southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.

Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 65.

Thursday night
Mostly clear, with a low around 35.

Friday
Sunny, with a high near 65.

Friday night
Mostly clear, with a low around 38.
