Garage Fire Causes $60K In Damages

The blaze broke out Monday evening in Santa Rosa, authorities said.

SANTA ROSA, CA – A fire caused about $60,000 of damage to the contents of a garage in Santa Rosa on Monday evening, fire officials said.

At 5:55 p.m., firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 500 block of Ironwood Court in the Roseland section of the city.

Fire officials said when firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the garage and the roof eave line of a single-story home.

Firefighters located the fire burning in the garage. The fire destroyed the garage's contents and damaged some structural members of the garage. The home's interior sustained light smoke damage.

Firefighters kept flames from impinging on the attic and living space of the home.

Fire officials said no one was injured. The home's occupants escaped after a smoke alarm went off.

The cause of the fire may have been accidental but the cause hasn't been determined yet.
