Gas Leak Blocks South Santa Rosa Roadway: Traffic Alert

Santa Rosa police and fire departments, along with PG&E, responded to the scene of a gas leak Monday afternoon on Automobile Row.

SANTA ROSA, CA — A south Santa Rosa roadway has reopened after being blocked Monday afternoon at the scene of a gas leak. Personnel with Santa Rosa police and fire departments, along with Pacific Gas & Electric, responded to the leak in the 2900 block of Corby Avenue on Automobile Row, police said.

Officers at 3:30 pm. were on diverting traffic from Automobile Row between Talmadge Drive and Bellevue Avenue, according to police.

Corby was initially expected to be closed for about two hours because of the incident, but police said at 5 p.m. that it had since reopened.

A PG&E spokeswoman said crews stopped the gas leak at 4:05 p.m.

A third-party work crew struck the two-inch plastic gas line around 2:35 p.m. and crews stopped the gas flow around 4:05 p.m., Spokeswoman Deanna Contreras said.

No PG&E customers were impacted, Contreras said.
