The Bible says that Christians should go into all the world and preach the Gospel, but I didn’t really expect the world to come to me.
We’ve been really blessed here at Rohnert Park Assembly lately. In the past few weeks, we’ve been joined by a woman just recently arrived from the Middle East and a family from Haiti.

The father of the Haitian family recently received his Green Card (congratulations!) and is one of the hardest working men I’ve ever seen. He works three jobs to take care of his family, but he is not downhearted. He knows that here in America, he has a chance to make something of himself that he would never have back in Haiti.
In Proverbs 22:29 we are told, “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men. “. This man is living the Word.

And how do you talk about the woman from the Middle East who was a Christian in an Islamic country? Here she is in now a country founded on the principle of freedom to worship. What must she feel?
Even for those of you who might not go to church, can you imagine living in a country that tells you that you may NOT go to church? I hope that the Rohnert Park Assembly has given this woman a soft place to land. “... and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” Isaiah 10:27
It’s been so humbling to have these people here and see how much they treasure the freedom and opportunity we have here in the United States.
I sometimes take things for granted. I think we all do from time to time. Talking with these wonderful people who have found our church has given me a fresh perspective.
So take some time today and savor your freedom. Remember, “Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1
