Golfcoarse Drive Smart Train Crossing Views still Not Opened up!

They keep saying that they are looking for ways to stop the accidents at this Crossing. I have been showing them the problems since they were doing the Testing years ago. They haven’t fixes any of the problems.

The items that are blocking all the views from the Pedestrians as the approach the tracks are all still there.

The lower tree branches are still blocking the views from the Apartment side, all along the Parking Lots Sound Wall.

The two trees, and Small Palm Tree, are still Blocking the Views from Chevron side.

Tree branches, two large trees, and all the Small trees in the Park and Ride along the Smart Train Tracks Fence are still Blocking the Views from the Roberts Road side, where people get off the bus at the stop, and run to the Chevron Station on their way to Walmart. Some of these groups of people are the folks with special needs going on their daily field trips to the McDonald’s in Walmart. A lot of times the race to the stop lights.

And lots of people ride their bikes with headsets on. And the Fences on the Apartments side puts the pedestrians and bike riders right up on the tracks, and while all the trees are blocking the views of the Northbound trains, turning the people to the South, takes away their peripheral vision of the Trains coming from the North, which the views are also blocked by trees.

The Rental Place are still Parking their Large Moving Trucks in the dirt area next to the tracks on the Rental side.

So they have done nothing but install Fences Without Gates. And at the Seed farm drive Bike-path Crossing, they have a gate with 10’ of open sidewalk next to it. So no one uses the gate, they just walk around it. Not very effective!

When someone trained in Safety in Designs explains the Problems and the Solutions, and they totally ignore all my Communication with them. It shows they don’t care about fixing the intersection.

It’s Much easier to just say it’s probably a suicide!

As far as using the latest in thermal imaging cameras, they have 30x Zoom thermal Imaging Cameras that they could be installed on each car, with a 6” LCD screen in front of the operator. This would let the operators see any living thing approaching the Tracks or laying on the tracks. It would give them more time to React to the problem.

They could install electromagnetic locking Pedestrian Gates that are Spring Loaded And Open Outward. Also they could lock when the crossing arms get the signal to go down.

Also paint the crossing arms counter weights Yellow and add a sign that says STOP. WHEN THE CROSSINGS ARMS GO DOWN, THE COUNTER WEIGHTS COME UP INTO THE PATH OF THE PEDESTRIANS. A simple to help stop the people from walking onto the tracks.
