Great Community Response To Tip-A-Cop In Rohnert Park
The fundraiser was held Thursday at Chili's.

News from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety:
Last night the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety held its 3rd annual Tip A Cop at Chili’s Restaurant on Redwood Dr. to raise monies in support of Special Olympics.
Chief Brian Masterson was joined by Fire Commander Mike Bates, Technical Services Commander Terri Mazzanti, Sgt. Aaron Johnson, Officer Cody Wattson, Officer Brittany Hawks, Police Records Clerk Lilly Brooks, Cotati Officer Chris Kaupe, and Cotati Volunteer Tyler Wardle who worked (hard) with Chili’s servers to raise awareness and monies for Special Olympics.

Special Olympic athletes (Dylan, Kevin and Erica) were also present to talk to patrons about their events and to sell T-shirts.
The way Tip A Cop works is that officers are assigned to Chili’s servers and they assist them in their duties of providing excellent table service. Then, at the end of the meal, in addition to the tip left for the server, patrons are asked to leave an “extra” tip for the officer who also served them, “Tip A Cop.” 100 percent of the tips received are donated to the Special Olypmics who use the money to send over 17,000 athletes to the Special Olympics Summer Games which will are held the last weekend in June on the UC Davis campus.

In addition to the tips, Chili’s corporate restaurant chain will be donating 10% of last night’s food sales to the Special Olympics.
Thanks to the great attendance and generous donations by our local community our Tip A Cop raised $2400.00 in tips and T-shirt sales! THANK YOU!
We also want to say a HUGE thank you to Chili’s manager, Maggie and the awesome servers who helped us “rock” the restaurant. You all were great!!
How to get involved? We will be hosting a second Tip A Cop at the Rohnert Park Applebee’s - date to be determined. We also have Special Olympics T-shirts for sale in sizes S,M,L,XL, and 2X for a $20.00 donation. Contact Terri Mazzanti of Rohnert Park Public Safety at 584-2648 to purchase one.
