Here's Patch's Online Guide for the 50th Anniversary Celebration
Where's the parade? What's going on at the Community Center? How can I support the event? You have the questions, Patch has the answers for Rohnert Park's big day.
Saturday marks the of the founding of Rohnert Park, and the city has been planning for to make this celebration worthy of the august occasion. Here in one place Patch, has assembled some of the information and material you'll need to make the best of the day.
It starts with a parade (of course), which will begin at at 10 a.m., travel south down Snyder Lane and ending at . See the attached document for rules and other conditions.

The party continues with community festival at the on Snyder Lane, a Show & Shine non-competitive car show for proud local auto owners, crafts, kids games, food, beer, wine and a history display of the last 50 years of "the Friendly City." Check out the attached video for a look back at the early days.
Entertainment will be hosted by "Mistress of Ceremonies" Cathy Slack and local comedian Brian Thomas. Four live bands will be on hand, including Wonder Bread 5, Counterbalance, Rotten Tomatoes and the Poyntlyss Sistars. See the attached art for a schedule of both indoors and outside entertainment.

There will be several fun, participatory "competitions" as well, including a "Lucky Legs" competition for men (judged by women), and Tri-cycle and Bed races. The celebration also doubles as the Homecoming Party for Rancho Cotate, whose football team meets Petaluma at 7:30 on Friday night.
Raffle tickets too will be sold all day to win one of the two Commemorative Sculptures by Sonoma County artist Patrick Amiot - one of them of star Giants closer Brian Wilson.
Commemorative Bricks are still available to demonstrate your financial support, to be installed in the Community Center Plaza.
Rohnert Park Patch will be on had for the parade and community festival, to take photos and gather your comments. Be sure to check out the site on Saturday evening and thereafter, and if you have photos to add to ours, you are invited!
The festivities will conclude at dusk with fireworks at Rancho Cotate's Cougar Stadium, making this a community event you won’t want to miss. After all, very few of us will be here to celebrate Rohnert Park's 100th - let's make the most of it this year.
