Home Invasion Suspect Dies, Another Arrested: Santa Rosa PD
One suspect was stabbed by the victim and died. The suspect's girlfriend was arrested in connection with the attempted home invasion robbery

SANTA ROSA, CA — An 18-year-old man died Thursday and his girlfriend was arrested in an attempted home invasion robbery in Santa Rosa, police said.
Jedediah Boncutter, 18, of Kelseyville, died at a local hospital after he was stabbed several times during the home invasion, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Boncutter and at least two other suspects — all suspected by police of being Norteno Gang participants — are accused of driving to Santa Rosa with Boncutter's girlfriend, Olivia Elcock, 19, of Kelseyville, with the intent to rob the victim.

Police said the victim, a man who lives in the 200 block of West 3rd Street, invited Elcock to his home.
She got there shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday. A short time later when Elcock asked if she could smoke a cigarette, the victim opened the back door for her.

Police said that is when three hooded and masked men, one armed with a shotgun, rushed in through the back door and attacked the victim.
The victim was hit and kicked numerous times during the incident but was able to grab a knife and started stabbing one of the attackers, police said.
One of the suspects fired the shotgun in the air, and the gun then jammed.
The victim then grabbed the shotgun and ran to a neighbor's where he was able to call police.
The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening. His name was not released because of the violent nature of the incident, police said.
Boncutter was the suspect stabbed by the victim. His coconspirators dropped him off at a local hospital where he was ultimately pronounced dead, police said.
Not long after the home invasion was reported, California Highway Patrol officers responded to a solo-vehicle crash near state Highway 12 and state Highway 21. They contacted a woman in the car who was later identified as Elcock.
Officers also found blood inside the vehicle.
Elcock told officers her boyfriend was stabbed in Santa Rosa and was taken to the hospital.
Police believe Elcock was involved in the home invasion and went to the home with the other suspects to rob the victim.
Elcock was arrested on suspicion of robbery, discharging a firearm during a robbery and a gang enhancement.
Police said the suspects were suspected Norteno Gang participants, and the investigation into the home invasion was ongoing.
Police asked anyone who witnessed the robbery to call the Santa Rosa Police Violent Crimes Team at 707-543-3590. Tips or information can also be reported at www.srcity.org/CrimeTips.
A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by the Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Rewards Fund. The reward is for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved in this robbery.
