Homeless Felon Arrested in Santa Rosa
Police say he had a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun when arrested.

SANTA ROSA, CA — A wanted Santa Rosa man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after officers found him to allegedly be in possession of a loaded handgun, police said.
Just before 3:30 p.m., officers patrolling the Joe Rodota Trail between downtown Santa Rosa and Stony Point Road recognized a man sleeping in a makeshift encampment. Police said the man, Elijah Reed, 24, was wanted for two outstanding warrants and was apprehended and handcuffed without incident before he woke up.
A black duffel bag was found by Reed while he was sleeping, and upon further investigation officers found a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun inside.

Reed was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in addition to the two outstanding warrants.
