Moraga

Moraga families are turning toward another school year as district officials direct parents to the 2026-27 calendar and individual campus schedules for opening information.

The district serves students at Camino Pablo, Donald Rheem, Los Perales, and Joaquin Moraga Intermediate schools.

Superintendent Julie Parks continues to lead the district; current district communications identify her in that role.

Parents should pay particular attention to their individual school communications because the district's central online August calendar incorporates several campus calendars rather than displaying a simple districtwide list of every orientation and Back-to-School Night.

One districtwide public event arrives later this month.

The Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee meets Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6:30 p.m. The committee monitors school construction bond spending, giving residents an opportunity to follow how district bond money is being used.

For school supplies, Moraga families who want a dedicated school-supply store can find Lakeshore Learning Store at 1929 Mt. Diablo Blvd. in nearby Walnut Creek.

Moraga Dates Parents Should Know

August: Families should watch Camino Pablo, Donald Rheem, Los Perales, and Joaquin Moraga Intermediate calendars for campus-specific events.

Thursday, Aug. 27: Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee meeting, 6:30 p.m., via Zoom.

Early September: Families should continue checking individual campus calendars for parent meetings and Back-to-School Nights.

Orinda

Orinda's school board returns to regular business Monday, Aug. 17, as families across the Orinda Union School District begin another academic year.

The district serves Del Rey, Glorietta, Sleepy Hollow, Wagner Ranch, and Orinda Intermediate schools.

The Aug. 17 Board of Trustees meeting begins its open session at 6 p.m. in the OUSD Board Room, 8 Altarinda Road.

Regular meetings are held in person and webcast, although residents who want to make public comments must attend in person. The board's next regular meeting follows Sept. 14.

The district has also posted its 2026-27 school-year calendar and provides parents links to Aeries, food and nutrition services, and board information from its central calendar page.

Because welcome events and Back-to-School Nights can differ by campus, families should check their individual school's calendar rather than assume an event applies districtwide.

For nearby school supplies, families can find Lakeshore Learning Store at 1929 Mt. Diablo Blvd. in Walnut Creek.
