9 Injured In Crash Involving Bus In Rohnert Park, Police Say
A crash between three vehicles, including a Sonoma County Transit bus, closed the intersection of Rohnert Park Expressway and Commerce Blvd.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — The intersection of Rohnert Park Expressway and Commerce Boulevard reopened shortly before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday following a crash involving a Sonoma County Transit bus.
Nine people were injured in the collision involving the bus and two other vehicles at the busy intersection just off U.S. Highway 101, according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.
The crash was reported at 10:53 a.m.

Investigators determined the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck was heading south on Commerce Boulevard when he went through the intersection and struck the transit bus and an SUV that were both stopped and waiting to make a left turn onto Rohnert Park Expressway.
Of the nine people injured, three went to hospitals; one with injuries considered major, another with moderate injuries, and one with minor injuries. The other six were treated at the scene or were privately transported for medical evaluation, public safety officials said.

Impairment was not considered a factor in the collision, which prompted the closure of the intersection for more than an hour, according to the Department of Public Safety.
