Man Allegedly Assaulted Near Sonoma County Fairgrounds
A man was allegedly assaulted in Santa Rosa Tuesday morning by two suspects who fled in a white pickup truck, a police sergeant said.

SANTA ROSA - A man was assaulted in Santa Rosa Tuesday morning by two suspects who fled in a white pickup truck, a police sergeant said.
The incident happened on Stevenson Street near the Sonoma County Fairgrounds around 7 a.m., Sgt. Chad Heiser said.
The victim was in a vehicle when he was approached and threatened by at least two suspects who were in the truck, Heiser said.

The victim backed his vehicle up quickly to escape but his car became wedged under the front of a parked semi-trailer, Heiser said. The victim fled from his vehicle and was chased by the suspects, who assaulted him.
The victim ran to a backyard on Stevenson Street where a resident called police, according to Heiser.

Police talked with the victim on the phone at the residence, and the suspects are still at large, Heiser said.
The victim, who suffered minor injuries, and the two suspects are men in their 20s, Heiser said.
Investigators do not know if the incident is gang-related, he said.
