Man (Allegedly Drugged and Speeding) Crashed Car On Way To See Santa
On his way to the North Pole on Sunday, he knocked over a power pole on Bodega Highway, leaving residents in the dark.

Despite his best efforts, Santa Claus likely has Jeffrey Ainsworth on his naughty list.
The 22-year-old Sebastopol man told California Highway Patrol officers he was on his way to the North Pole to see Santa when he crashed his Audi into a power pole on Bodega Highway in Sonoma County early Sunday morning, according to the CHP.

After speaking with Ainsworth, CHP officers suspected he was under the influence of methamphetamine and he was arrested.
The crash was reported on Bodega Highway near Bohemian Highway on the edge of Occidental shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, CHP officials said.

The crash brought down power lines, making Ainsworth and his car difficult for officers to access, CHP officials said.
It also knocked out power for 31 residents in the area for most of the day, according to PG&E.
Bodega Highway was closed for about four hours while the CHP investigated the crash and the damage to the pole was cleaned up.
When Ainsworth was taken to jail, he got into a fight with a CHP officer. It took another officer and additional jail staff to get him under control, CHP officials said.
He was arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving without a license and obstructing officers, according to the CHP.
