Man Nabbed For Alleged Rohnert Park Vehicle Theft After Pursuit
Deputies were tracking the stolen truck through an OnStar system, but the driver reportedly sped off.

Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Petaluma man on suspicion of vehicle theft and multiple other offenses Friday after a pursuit and search with a police dog, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
The black Chevrolet truck with out of state plates was stolen Friday in Rohnert Park and was being tracked by the OnStar tracking system in the Sonoma Valley area, Sgt. Cecile Focha said. Deputies were alerted to the theft around 10:30 p.m. and the truck was spotted at Fetters Avenue and Sunset Way in the Sonoma Valley, Focha said.
The truck driver sped toward a patrol car, fishtailed and knocked down a fence at a residence on the side of the road, Focha said. Deputies pursued the truck that reached speeds exceeding 75 mph, drove on the wrong side of road and disregarded road signs on state Highway 12, Focha said.

Deputies ended the pursuit for safety reasons but monitored the truck’s location via OnStar to a shopping center on Broadway in Sonoma where it was found behind a business, Focha said. Deputies spotted the driver running through a courtyard toward a building.
The driver was located with the help of a police dog, and after a fight with deputies he surrendered, Focha said.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old David Allen Logue Jr. of Petaluma, was on probation, had a warrant and was out on bail on other charges, Focha said. He was booked for vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, evading police and other driving offenses, Focha said.
Logue is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Sonoma County Superior Court. The owner of the truck retrieved his vehicle in Sonoma, Focha said.
