BREAKING: A 22-year-old man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator in the incident, officials said.

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- A 22-year-old Rohnert Park resident was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor sexual battery Tuesday after a woman reported that as she was walking on Golf Course Drive with her 9-month-old child, a man had come up behind her and forcefully grabbed her buttocks. The victim, a 29-year-old Rohnert Park resident, called 911 to report the incident, according to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.

She described the alleged groper as a Hispanic man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants, and told public safety officials he ran toward the fire station on Country Club Drive. Officers who were on duty at the time saw their possible suspect running past the fire station and detained him. The victim then positively identified him as the man who had grabbed her buttocks, officials said.

The alleged perpetrator was identified in a news release as Alexis Carreno-Cruz.
