Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Van Identified

SANTA ROSA, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a motorcyclist who died after a collision with a van last week as David Jimenez, 20, of Santa Rosa. The crash was reported at 6:07 p.m. on July 17 in the 3000 block of Wiljan Court in south Santa Rosa. Jimenez was found in the roadway and was taken to a hospital where he died, Santa Rosa police said.

Jimenez was riding a Kawasaki sport bike and was speeding south on Wiljan Court when he crossed over double yellow lines to pass a slower vehicle, police said.

The motorcycle collided with a northbound van that was making a left turn into a driveway. The van driver was not injured and he cooperated with the investigation, police said.
