Naked Man Briefly Shuts Down Traffic on Hwy 101

CHP used Tasers to take him into custody Sunday morning.

Northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Petaluma was blocked briefly this morning while a nude man ran wildly through the lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP first received calls about a vehicle driving erratically on the highway near East Washington Street at 9 a.m. Eventually the vehicle, a 2013 silver Chevy pickup truck, crashed into a guard rail.

According to the CHP, the driver then got out of the truck and took off all his clothes.

Arriving officers used Tasers in order to take the man into custody.

The man has been identified by the CHP as 25-year-old Jon Leonard of Hawthorne.

Leonard was examined at Petaluma Valley Hospital, then booked into Sonoma County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, and resisting arrest.
