Napa PD: Domestic Violence Incident Ends With Man Shooting, Killing Himself
The man's wife was pulled to safety through a window at the Central Avenue home by police.

A 32-year-old Napa man died last night from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after reportedly threatening to kill himself, his wife and two daughters on Central Avenue, according to the police.
The Napa Police Department was called Tuesday to a home on the 700 block of Central Avenue at 7:26 p.m., and shortly after arriving heard a single gunshot from within the residence.
Officers moved to a vantage point outside of the residence and could see a woman through a window, police said. They assisted in helping her out through the window.

She was suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand and had facial injuries from a struggle, and told the police no one else was is in the home except for her husband, police said.
She told officers she was shot by her husband during a struggle over the gun, police said.

Within minutes of the wife leaving the house, a second gunshot was heard, police said,
The Napa Police Department’s SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team and the Napa County Sheriff’s SWAT Team arrived at the scene, and tried without success for several hours to make contact with the man inside, police said.
A robot with a closed-circuit video camera was deployed into the home, and searched the entire interior, except for one room, the bathroom, and could not locate the male, police said.
The SWAT team then entered and found the man deceased in the bathroom due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound and a rifle nearby, police said.
The man’s wife was transported to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.
The name of the deceased was not being released, and the case is still under investigation.
During the incident, several surrounding residences were evacuated. Residents were cleared to safely return to their homes at approximately 1:30 a.m., police said.
