North Bay Beheading Suspect Captured By Police
Luis Gustavo Aroyo-Lopez is accused of stabbing and decapitating a relative in a Santa Rosa home Thursday, according to police.

SANTA ROSA, CA — A man who authorities said stabbed and decapitated a relative in her Santa Rosa home this week has been captured by police.
Luis Gustavo Aroyo-Lopez, 24, of Santa Rosa, was arrested Saturday, two days after police said he killed the woman inside a home in the 2500 block of Pomo Trail and left carrying her head, Santa Rosa police confirmed.
Police did not release additional details about the arrest.

Police were called to the home around 3:40 p.m. Thursday. When officers entered the home, police said they found a dead woman inside with her head missing.
Detectives said an initial investigation suggested Aroyo-Lopez was responsible for the killing. According to police, Aroyo-Lopez was recently released from state prison where he was incarcerated for offenses that included assault with a deadly weapon.

He was last seen walking south on Iroquois Street, according to authorities. Police said they did not know where Aroyo-Lopez was going or if he had access to a vehicle.
