NY Bank Fraud Suspects Arrested In Sonoma County

New York suspects suspected of a fraud operation in Sonoma County and the wider Bay Area were arrested in Vacaville.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Three New Yorkers suspected of using fake IDs and financial documents to withdraw money from banks around Sonoma County and the East Bay were arrested this week following a months-long investigation.

Investigators from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said the suspects traveled from New York to Northern California and began targeting multiple banks in Sonoma County and the wider San Francisco Bay Area.

On Friday, Sonoma County Sheriff's detectives recovered more than $15,000 in cash at a Vacaville hotel along with fraudulent identification cards, credit cards, and other evidence tied to identity theft. More evidence was found in the suspects’ vehicle, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities identified the suspects as Carleen McGeachie, Richard Logan, and Heaven Richards, all New York residents. The three were booked into the Sonoma County Jail without bail on charges related to bank fraud and identity theft.
