Oliver's Market Vitamin Heist Leads To Arrests In ID Theft

A local market became the scene of repeated organized retail, leading police to a couple suspected of stealing vitamins and identity theft.

ROHNERT PARK-COTATI, CA — A vitamin heist at a popular local market led investigators to the suspects and a suspected identity theft operation.

On January 19, 2026, a man and a woman entered Oliver’s Market on Montecito Boulevard and left the store with more than $1,300 in vitamins without paying for them, Santa Rosa police said.

Detectives from the Santa Rosa Police Department’s property crimes investigations team identified the couple — Cody Benson, 38, and Mariah McGovern, 31, both Rohnert Park residents, according to a Santa Rosa Police Department post on Facebook.

On Tuesday, as detectives were completing the investigation, a manager with Oliver’s Market reported the man suspected in the January vitamin theft had visited the store again. A security camera showed him leaving the store with approximately $80 in vitamins, again, without paying for them, police said.

Early Wednesday, property crimes detectives searched the couple's Rohnert Park apartment in the 400 block of City Center Drive.

Detectives found "extensive personal identifying information" of more than 20 people, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Benson faces multiple charges, including organized retail theft, commercial burglary, grand theft, and conspiracy. McGovern faces similar charges, along with identity theft and possession of another person’s personal information, according to Santa Rosa police. Investigators are contacting the victims to help secure their financial accounts and prevent further fraud.
