Our Million Dollar Bike Path Boondoggle Breaks All Codes

So I have been telling everyone that the new bike path is not only being installed out of UBC Codes for Installation Of Concrete. As I informed them the Rebar Cross pieces don’t overlap the outside lateral runs to lock them in. They just cut them to length and held them on with Bailing Wire.

But it gets worse, they didn’t remove the old Sub Base and Base rock before installing their new sub base and base rock on top of the old layers. This made it 6” too high on the whole project.

They also made it only 8’ Wide which is the minimum with. They Advise a 10’ wide path, and Recommend a 12’ one if possible.

It is a CLASS 1 Multiuser Path.

All Paths Require a Level, 2’ compacted shoulder on Each side.

By not following the requirements the whole path not only won’t drain, but there is no way to ADD a Two Foot Level Shoulder on each side.
